Dua and self-determination are our tools for liberation. Reflections on the federal elections in the United States
Dua is the most powerful tool we have for our collective liberation.
Dua is strongest when coupled with actions taken for the will of Allah.
Our work today is the same as it was yesterday.
Alhamdulillah, allah will reward our continued efforts to eradicate white supremacist patriarchy in all of its forms. Today, as we did yesterday, we make dua for the safety, well-being, and strength of our muslim siblings living in the united states. Wallahi, today, as we did yesterday, we will continue to support all muslims in self-determining their reproductive fates. For allah is our planner—not the supreme court, not the u.S. Congress, and not any u.S. President.
May we remain steadfast in our mission, and may allah guide and protect us all. Ameen.
When we make abortion access a community priority and fund abortion care, we make abortion safer. We have the power to make abortion an option for all - with or without the support of the State.
We believe that abortion is a mercy from Allah. As gratitude, may we extend even a fraction of that mercy to each other in moments of uncertainty and civil unrest.
The same way that our faith guides us to our pro-abortion politic, it also guides us to a pro-black, decolonial feminist one. The U.S. South is the region with the highest concentrations of black people and of queer and trans identified people of anywhere in the country. We also know that north carolina, virginia, and arizona are among the u.S. States with the highest number of muslims living within them.
We will never abandon the U.S. South.
As a pro-abortion, pro-black collective, we uplift several abortion funds serving the U.S. South.
Yellowhammer Fund - Serving Alabama, Mississippi, and the Deep South
Buckle Bunnies Fund - volunteer ran, queer and sex worker led, serving Texas
Missouri Abortion Fund - Serving Missouri
ARC South East - Providing funding and logistical support to the U.S Southeast
Indigenous Women Rising - Providing funding to all Native and Indigenous people seeking abortion care in the U.S.
Mississippi Reproductive Fund - Providing funding for Plan B, abortion, transportation, lodging, child care and travel for mississippi residents
We also uplift the following informational, legal, and support resources for people in the U.S. navigating the rapidly changing abortion landscape:

Pregnancy Justice - Provides defense for people who face investigation, arrest, or detainment related to any pregnancy outcome
Repro Legal Defence Fund and Legal Helpline - The Repro Legal Defense Fund provides bail and ongoing legal expenses for people criminalized for abortion. The repro legal helpline provides free, confidential legal advice.
