Trans Day of Remembrance, 2024

On this Trans Day of Remembrance, we honor the existence of trans Muslims throughout history.

As Allah (SWT) says in the Quran, “O you who have believed, be persistently standing firm in justice... Allah is more worthy of both.” [Quran, 4:135].

We grieve the lives lost to transphobia, Islamophobia, and all forms of oppression.

These injustices prevent us from living the dignity we deserve as Allah’s creations. Allah makes no mistakes and guides us all. We ask for His mercy and that He continue to guide us closer to justice with each step we take today and always.

A Dua for the Well-Being and Liberation of Trans People

O Allah, the Most Merciful, the Most Just,

We come before You with heavy hearts, remembering all those we have lost,

Those who were taken from us simply for being who they are.

Grant them peace and eternal rest in Your mercy.

O Allah, You created us all, each of us with purpose, and You make no mistakes.

Grant strength, protection, and dignity to trans people everywhere.

Guide us in justice, fill our hearts with Your mercy,

And help us walk the path of love and healing.
