A Dua for the People of Palestine, a year on from this current iteration of genocide.

Ya Allah,

All praise is to you.

On this day that marks one year of continued and escalated genocide, words fail us. There is nothing left to say because the horrors render us speechless. We turn to you in this time of immense grief and pain so that we can remember and honour our Palestinian siblings through dua.

Oh Allah, As-Salam (the Giver of Peace), we pray to you for the people of Palestine. We pray for their safety and protection. We pray for their peace and for their dignity. We pray for the end of their suffering and the end of this occupation. We pray for justice and accountability - in this life and the next. We pray for their liberation and we pray that we get to witness this liberation in our lifetimes.

Our hearts are heavy as we mourn our martyred siblings. We will never forget them. We pray for their safe passage into the afterlife and that they may be reunited with their loved ones in Jannah. May we honour their memories through our deeds and our actions, oh Allah. May our hearts remain soft and ache at the loss of lives. May we never forget that it is our responsibility as Muslims and as humans to hold this grief and bear witness.

We remember all of those who are still alive by your grace, Ya Allah, but forced to live through the violence of colonialism. We pray for their safety and for their victory against this evil. We pray for those displaced by the ongoing Nakba and pray for their safe return to their homelands.

Oh Allah, Ar-Rahman (the Most Merciful) we pray for the end of white supremacy and all of its manifestations. We pray that the world is liberated from the shackles of oppression and that the evil of zionism is uprooted, never to return. We pray for liberation, by any means necessary.

May we not waver in our fight for liberation.

May we remain strong and steadfast in our battles for freedom and justice.

May we win.

Oh Allah, we pray for the people and we pray for the land. We pray for a free Palestine.

Ameen.
