AZ is a mixed heritage Muslim doula and community organiser based in London, UK. She is of Kreol Mauritian and Ilankai Moor and Malay heritage, which heavily influences her practice and her dedication to reconnecting with the histories and traditions that honoured abortions long before they became medicalised and legalised under white supremacy.
AZ has been a doula since 2021, after completing specialist training with Dopo and later establishing the roots for what is now the Ad’iyah Collective. Their praxis is expansive and continuously growing - offering free doula support to people navigating all types of pregnancy endings at any stage in their journey. AZ is committed to providing emotional and practical support throughout your pregnancy journey that is rooted in love and respect for your and your autonomy.
Outside of doula work, AZ can be found in the kitchen, doing DIY or reading a good book.
